শর্টকাট রাস্তায়............২ : আমরা হের কথা কানে লই না দেইখা খালপাড় থেইকা একখান খালই নিয়া আইলো। আসলেই! খালই এর মধধে কৈ মাছ খলবল করতাসে। গ্রামের মাইনশের মাথায় কি বুধধি! আমরা হের বুধধির প্রশংশা করায় দেখলাম খুশি হইল। (এই ব্যাপারটা আপনারা কখনো খেয়াল করসেন কিনা জানি না, গ্রামের মানুষগুলা মনে করে শহরের মানুষ অনেক বেশি জানে! আমার কিন্তু উল্টা মনে হয়।) খুশি হয়া হেয়ও আমাগো রাস্তা বাতলায় দিলো, "এই রাস্তা ধইরা সোজা হাটতে থাকবেন। অল্প একটু আগায় গেলে একটা পুল পরবো। পুলে উইঠা দেখবেন, একটা কড়ই গাছ দেহা যাইতাসে। পুল থেইকা আবার ব্যাক করবেন। বামের রাস্তা ধইরা ওই কড়ই গাছের দিকে হাটা দিবেন।“ বুঝলাম না, গাছ দেখবার লেইগা পুলে উঠতে কইলো কেন! আর এই নিশুতি আন্ধার রাইতে কড়ই গাছ ক্যামনে দেহুম! কিন্তু আর কিসু না কয়া হের কথা মতো হাটা দিলাম। কিসু কইলে আবার যদি খেইপা যায়! read more

বনলতার অসুখ : অনেকদিন স্বপ্ন দেখি না। কাল রাতে অদ্ভুত একটা স্বপ্ন দেখে ঘুম ভেঙ্গে গেল। সেই স্বপ্নের অধিকাংশই মুছে গেছে ভোরের আলো ফোটার সাথে সাথে। ***** তবু স্বপ্নটাকে নিয়ে লিখতে ইচ্ছে করছে। আবার অর্থহীন স্বপ্নটাকে গুরুত্ব দিতে বারণ করছে আরেকটা মন। ***** স্বার্থপরতার অলিগলি পেরিয়ে শীত কুয়াশার বেড়াজাল এড়িয়ে শেষরাতের স্বপ্নে ভেসে এলো- কাঁপানো জ্বর নিয়ে এলোচুলে বিছানায় শুয়ে বনলতার শরীর। এত ছোট্ট স্বপ্ন আমি আর কখনোই দেখিনি।

সর্বংসহা............ : ============================== বিকেল গড়িয়ে সন্ধ্যার বিষন্ন আলোটুকুও ঢেকে পড়েছে কুয়াশার চাদরে। ঘরের পুব পাশের জানালাটা দিয়ে আকাশের বেশ খানিকটা চোখে পড়ে। দৃষ্টির লাঙ্গল চষে বেড়ায় আকাশের বুক চিরে। হঠাৎ কেন জানি বুকের মধ্যে আকুলি-বিকুলি করে উঠে বোবা কষ্ট। যে কষ্ট ফোঁটা ফোঁটা শিশির বিন্দুর মতো জমাট বেঁধে আছে বুকে। কখনো অবসরে অগোচরে সে বরফ গলে পড়ে অশ্রু হয়ে। বাতাসের স্পর্শে শিরশির করে উঠে শরীর। আচম্বিতে মনে পড়ে মেয়েটা এখনো বাড়ি ফেরেনি। read more

The Yin and Yang of Audience : ( image ) The  Signal San Francisco conference  is less than a week away, so I thought I’d take the time to explain my reasoning for the theme, and offer a curtain raiser of sorts on the day-long program. ( PS, I have ten, and only ten, half price tickets available. Hit this link , and use the code “luckyday.” ) The theme, a portion of which is the title of this post, is “The Yin and Yang of Audience, Platforms and the Independent Web.” I do get a few eyes a-rollin’ when I frame conference themes, but hey, I can only do what I know how to do. I actually think pretty hard about this stuff, and like to take the time to outline the ideas behind the program. So here goes.
