Anti-Islam video protests:
Protests throughout the world continue to rage a week after they began over a crudely-produced video that mocks Islam. The internet video, produced in the United States, led to anti-American demonstrations in dozens of countries. As many as 17 people have died in the violence. American warships stood by off Libya after the US ambassador there was killed in a possibly-related attack. The embassies, consulates, and commercial interests of other western nations have been attacked during the protests. -- Lane Turner (30 photos total)

Reality di Matteo Garrone – La recensione : Uno sguardo che cade dall’alto su una carrozza con i cavalli bianchi, che attraversa le strade asfaltate di una città di oggi mentre la musica conferma l’atmosfera fiabesca. Sembra irreale, e invece è una rappresentazione nemmeno troppo esagerata di un sontuoso matrimonio del Sud. Se alla macchina da presa non ci fosse Matteo Garrone , il regista di Gomorra , potremmo pensare che si tratti di una commedia grottesca, e invece è Reality , film che ha ricevuto il Gran Premio della Giuria all’ultimo festival di Cannes , e che intende esplorare un altro lato della nostra società, meno roboante di quello mostrato nell’opera precedente dell’autore, ma con una presa comunque molto forte sul mondo che esiste al di fuori del grande schermo.
